Prince Eugen Napoleon Nicolaus of Sweden and Norway, Duke of Närke (Drottningholm, 1 August 1865[1] – Drottningholm, 17 August 1947[1]) was the youngest son of King Oscar II of Sweden and Norway.
He was a famous painter, art collector and patron of artists. His residence, Waldemarsudde, on Djurgården in Stockholm, is now an art museum.[2] On 21 January 1904 Prince Eugen was appointed a Knight of the Norwegian Lion by King Oscar II.[3]
